Our inspiration comes from the natural beauty of the San Juan Islands.
The Space
The studio space is 650 square feet of packed creativity! On any day there will be many projects in the works. Located on the south end of beautiful San Juan Island, just 800 steps from the beach, and nestled in old growth Douglas Fir and Pacific Madrone forest, it’s a space that inspires! I never feel like I’m working - just creating!
The Materials
It all begins with a walk on the beach or a visit to a local mill. We use beautiful driftwood pieces careful to harvest only on beaches approved for harvesting wood. We also rely on partnerships with local mills. Epoxy resins come in different formulations, and each one has a unique purpose. We’re careful that nothing is wasted, eliminating the need to add to the landfill. Our favorite pigments are by Black Diamond. They are so vibrant and true! And when it comes time for the magic…applying Odie’s Oil to finish each piece, that’s when we really see the beauty of the wood grain and colors!

The Process
I’ve been a wood carver for many years and have made beautiful carvings which showcased in juried art shows from the Midwest to the West Coast. But there is a fundamental and important difference between pieces that sit on a shelf and functional pieces that people can use in their everyday life! That is what I love about this process! I get so much joy from seeing pictures of my customers using their boards, sharing good food as they share precious moments with loved ones! These charcuterie boards and coasters are made to be functional… and artistic!
